Take your current biggest problem and consciously develop 20 terrible ideas. The more absurd, stupid or unethical, the better. No filters. Just bad ideas.

Then search for the hidden jewel in each of these terrible ideas.

Ask yourself, "What's the opposite of this?" “What little part of it is actually brilliant?”

The worst ideas often turn into your best breakthroughs.

Example 1:
  • "Spam customers 50 times a day with messages"
  • Result: They will block you.
  • Reverse: Send rare but extremely valuable content.
Example 2:
  • "Making onboarding as long as possible"
  • Result: Many jump off.
  • Reverse: Make it ridiculously short and pleasant.

Simple. Against intuition. Surprisingly effective.
